PRINCELY BEAUTY Just as I'd come to terms with the fact that Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake and the like are calling themselves "fashion designers", came news that Prince Charles has turned his royal hand to beauty. Well, organic skin care to be precise. Not only that; it's selling like hot cakes. According to WWD, the five-piece organic skin treatment set - called Highgrove, after his estate in Gloucestershire, and inspired by plants that grow there - has already sold out at the prince's organic-produce store in Tetbury and Organic Pharmacy stores across Britain.
GLAM GOD Yet another reality fashion TV series is in the making. According to a report in New York Magazine last week, celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch will join forces with American actress Vivica A. Fox in search of a hot new A-list stylist on VH1's reality contest, Glam God. The series will follow a handful of wannabe stylists as they dress a string of "spoiled B-listers" for various events, rescue them from fashion disasters and even "save them from their own bad taste." Sounds like a hoot. FROCK ON The fashion world loves a party. Just ask Diesel boss Renzo Rosso, who will throw 18 lavish parties, from Tokyo to New York, in October to celebrate the Italian denim brand's 30th anniversary. Last month Diesel bought a majority stake in Dutch label Viktor & Rolf and, according to WWD, Rosso is putting together his own TV channel. Meanwhile, the International Herald Tribune will celebrate Suzy Menkes' 20 years as fashion editor of the Paris-based paper with an exhibition during Paris Fashion Week in September. It will feature iconic pages from Menkes' celebrated career. -- Rachel Wells
